An Online Shop Is Coming

I have good news. The website/YouTube channel Game-on Ken will be having a start-up print on demand store. I am starting a brand online to put together graphic ideas onto merchandise products. The name of the store is “Gameplay Session”. Here is a list of answered questions that will help you understand what my shop is about and what to expect.

1. What is Gameplay Session?

Summary

Gameplay Session is an online store that sells print on demand merch related to the subject of video games. I want this to be a place where both game players (gamers) and game developers can find products to show their interest in video games to people everywhere. The products will have graphics and words focused on subjects that relates to the gaming industry and its social space. My graphic ideas will be unique by speaking on things that are not aware by most people. The goal is to give video games attention to the general public, by wanting to start conversations from the messages on my merch.

What does the name mean?

I wanted to find words that both gamers and developers know and understand. Gameplay is a term that fits because a video game experience involves gameplay and creators are the ones who come up with concepts for the games we play. The Session part stands for spending time on an activity for practice, entertainment, or creating. The name changed from many things, and I was stuck on another one called “Gameplay Loop”. This can work, but I don’t think many people knows what the term gameplay loop means. Gameplay Session sounds fun, smart, cool, and relatable to people who plays video games.

Terms That Describe Us

These are the words that I want to achieve with this business in how its presented and what customers should see.

Passionate – I want to create things that I really want to enjoy doing by focusing on each part of the process.

  • Make products that I care about and want to finish.

Transparency – Would like to be open with my customers in what is going on and to be honest.

  • When there is news, get my audience up to date on products or deals.

Attentive – Be able to communicate with customers to get their orders corrected and fix any issues that may come up.

  • Care for the customer and be reasonable in wanting to help their needs.

Resourceful – I want to repeat ideas to be on different products that can fit well with it.

  • Create different versions of the same art, for customers to have more options.

Cooperative – Work with colleagues and the customer to be kind in communication and work well together.

  • Communication and making sure everyone have the same goal and know what to do.

Core Values

How do you want your company to be seen?

I want my store to be welcoming and cool for everyone by the style of my products and what is said on them. It will be appropriate for all ages with its use of words and imagery. Gameplay Session will be a place that gamers can feel comfortable expressing their hobby.

How do you hope to affect your community?

My shop can benefit the gaming community by representing the messages on my products and fan work. Customers can wear and place my work on objects to show both gamers and non-gamers what they say and share what it means. I want game developers to be glad they have a place to purchase merchandise related to their occupation.

Vision Statement

  1.  “A place where gamming fans can go to express their interest in games”
  2. “Game developers can promote their profession through clothes”
  3. “Make games explored outside the screen”

My online store goals are focused on bringing my passion for video games to the world through merchandise products with ideas that can attract people. I want my products to be noticed by gamers and game developers, wearing it to express the statements on them. My goal is to get connected with people who like the same things as me on the internet and notice my store.

Mission Statement

  1. “Expand the game industry, one player at a time”
  2. “Create a space for games to be shared”
  3. “Raise the acceptance of video games everywhere”

The mission is to create products for gaming fans and creators that want to share their interest to everyone. When someone sees a part of my work, they can start a conversation with peers and family on what it means. Creating merch focused on gaming topics and themes can broaden the gap of gamers and everyone else to make the medium be more common.

2. What will you be selling?

The main products I would like to sell are graphic T-shirts, notebooks, stickers, pins, buttons and hopefully fanart prints. It’s a video game store, and I want to create artwork from games I like. The issue would be copyright on the intellectual properties from the companies that own them, so fan work will be the least featured in my store.

3. Who should be Interested?

If you really enjoy playing video games or creating one independently or in a group, Gameplay Session should be the right place for you. My demographic are adolescents and young adults for both boys and girls.

What is your main aesthetic and style for your store?

My style is using simple graphics and text having solid or detailed colors with effects on them. Some styles will be cartoon images, anime, or western art inspired. As of right now I don’t have a particular style but will see what the audience likes.

4. Where can I purchase your products?

At the start of opening, this store will be on a third-party website for convenience and getting something out there. It will begin on “Redbubble” and spread to Amazon Merch, and possibly another site. The goal should one day have it on this site after things are going well and learn how to manage selling products on my own. I would have to do the whole process of supplying, making the art, put it on products and shipping. This part will have updates on the store’s status and any news regarding to its condition.

5. When will it be open?

The store will begin soon after this post goes up, I am assuming in the same month. I have my first product nearly finished and want to have something uploaded there to get started. Everything I sell will have its own blog post individually, to give it a place to describe them in more detail.

Gameplay Session is my first store and first time selling something online. This will be a new experience, and I will be up to date with my products when they are on the market. If you think this is a place you are curious about, follow this blog site newsletter and I will have emails sent to you when something new has been added. If not, waiting until you see my first product can work as well. Following my Redbubble page is a great way to stay in touch with the store too.
